Steve Sanchez embarked on his competitive swimming journey at the age of 8 with the Delta Waves in Antioch, CA, under Craig Carson, and later at CPH (now Terrapins Swim Team) under Ray Mitchell. During his time in these programs, Steve earned national Top 16 rankings and multiple Pacific Swimming Swimmer of the Year awards. His competitive swimming chapter concluded as a member of the Indiana University Men’s swim team.

Transitioning into coaching, Steve has been dedicated to age group swimming, joining the FAST Tigers staff in 2009. Leading the 10 & Under program, he has transformed our youngest athletes into one of the top groups in the state, consistently achieving Top 8 rankings in both the state and zone. Steve's remarkable coaching efforts earned him the title of Indiana Developmental Coach of the Year in 2014 and 2019.

Beyond the pool, Steve resides in Fishers with his wife, Beth, and their two sons, Jonah and Sam.
