He earned the 200 breaststroke LCM and SCY team records and competed as the breaststroke leg of a YMCA national record-holding 400 medley relay. Brett went on to swim at Purdue University under Dan Ross, where he studied Environmental Geoscience. As a Boilermaker, Brett primarily swam the 200/400 IM, 200 backstroke, and 200 breaststroke. From 2020-2022, he scored in all three of his events at the Big Ten Championships. Notably, Brett placed 6th in the 400 IM and was awarded the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award for Purdue to end his career. Introduced to FAST by his girlfriend, Lizzy Pfeifer, who swam for FAST until 2017, Brett enjoys spending his free time exploring Indianapolis, showcasing his geography skills, and staying active outdoors.
