What FAST CAPP Student-Athletes Receive:

Time: Personalized one-on-one sessions with student-athletes to identify their preferences, interests, and goals. This foundational exploration, supported by self-exploration questionnaires and tools like Naviance, sets the stage for informed decisions. The recruiting journey starts by understanding the athlete's priorities and values.

Research: Utilization of resources like Naviance and Collegeswimming.com to identify potential programs that align with the athlete's preferences. Productive assignments and goals are set to keep the student-athlete on track, including high school visits, campus tours, and developing a comprehensive student-athlete resume.

Education: Providing awareness of relevant terminology and critical aspects of the recruiting process. Ensuring that student-athletes are well-informed and can navigate the process confidently.

Guidance and Assistance:

Knowledge: In-depth insights into what college coaches seek, the best communication practices, and staying organized throughout the recruiting journey. Constant updates on evolving NCAA rules to navigate the challenging landscape.

Connections: Leveraging Coach Garland Wilson's extensive network in collegiate swimming to establish valuable connections with coaches nationwide. Proactively reaching out to coaches of interest to ensure the athlete's profile is considered.

Constant Availability: CAPP athletes enjoy continuous access to Coach Garland for any questions or discussions. Whether on a college visit or seeking advice on crafting emails to coaches, Coach Garland remains available for guidance.

Post-Placement Support

Communication: Ongoing communication during the first semester in the new collegiate program. Addressing unexpected situations or challenges and providing support throughout the athlete's collegiate journey.

Positive Experience: The ultimate goal is to ensure a positive experience for every FAST CAPP athlete from start to finish. Recognizing that each journey is unique, Coach Garland's experience and expertise contribute to comprehensive preparation for any direction the athlete's journey may take.

FAST College Assisted Placement Program (CAPP)

The Fishers Area Swimming Tigers proudly present the College Assisted Placement Program (CAPP), a specialized initiative designed to guide and support our high school swimmers through the intricate collegiate recruiting process. Led by Coach Garland Wilson, a seasoned professional with extensive experience both as a collegiate swimmer and coach, CAPP aims to provide invaluable assistance and insights to ensure each athlete finds the best-fit collegiate program.
